Within the framework of the MiHUB and EyeMatics funding projects, we are further expanding our Data Integration Center. For this, we are looking for dedicated individuals who can contribute their experience in data integration, data engineering, medical data science, or medical informatics and who want to work with us to develop modern data platforms for research and care.
YOUR TASKS
Your area of responsibility
- Clinical data integration: Analyzing clinical source systems and developing sustainable integration solutions.
- Architecture & ETL: Designing and developing database and data warehouse structures as well as ETL processes for the clinical data repository.
- Interface management: Establishing and maintaining modern data interfaces according to HL7-FHIR standards and the specifications of the Medical Informatics Initiative (MII).
- Data quality & terminologies: Ensuring high data quality through the implementation of medical terminologies such as LOINC and SNOMED CT.
- Data Stewardship: Supporting the provision of research data and taking on tasks in data stewardship.
- Process documentation: Continuous documentation of processes and active participation in the further development of the system landscape.
Interface work
- Research support: Advising researchers on data requests and feasibility analyses, as well as ensuring data usage complies with data protection regulations.
- Data analysis: Conducting data analyses using Python or R within the framework of multi-center research projects.
- Teamwork: Close coordination and cooperation with interdisciplinary project teams, medical departments and external partners.
- Compliance: Consistent implementation of data protection, information security and compliance requirements.
YOUR PROFILE
Ideally, you should bring the following:
- Completed studies in computer science, medical informatics, bioinformatics, data science or a comparable field
- Experience in the development and support of database systems, ETL processes and data integration solutions
- Knowledge of SQL and ideally experience with data warehouse architectures, preferably SAP BW/4HANA.
- Knowledge of medical data standards such as HL7 FHIR, LOINC or SNOMED CT is advantageous.
- Experience in data analysis and data preparation using Python, R or similar technologies
- Understanding data protection and information security in healthcare
- Analytical thinking skills, initiative, and a structured and solution-oriented approach to work.
- Enjoyment of interdisciplinary collaboration and communication with different specialist departments
