Senior AI Integration Engineer (d/f/m)

LEG is pursuing a consistent AI-first approach: AI is becoming part of our daily work and we are optimizing our activities end-to-end.

To implement this, we are strengthening our "AI & New Technologies" unit – a high-performing team that identifies processes, optimizes them as AI skills, and puts them into production. As a Senior AI Integration Engineer (m/f/d), you'll be right in the thick of it: you'll build the skills that transform our processes – hands-on and in rapid succession.

We offer these tasks:

• You develop AI skills and agents from the use case and skill development to deployment via API during operation.
• With the right LLMs and tools (including Langdock), you can automate processes end-to-end into viable solutions, including choosing the right model between high-end and cost-effective options.
• You independently design and implement interfaces and system connections, from API development to the integration of company data and systems (including SAP as a system of record), taking existing data architectures into careful consideration.
• You seamlessly integrate your solutions into operations: you test, document, version, and support the rollout directly in the departments where you work on a rotating basis.
• You actively participate in the governance model and ensure, through targeted knowledge transfer, that solutions can be operated internally on a long-term basis.
• You evaluate models, platforms and stacks in a well-founded and critical manner from technical, economic and ethical perspectives.
• You will independently build and operate cloud and on-premises infrastructure on Microsoft Azure (including Azure AI Foundry) and Linux, and decide where AI has the greatest impact.

This is the profile we are looking for:

• You have a completed university degree in (business) informatics, mathematics, data science, physics or a comparable STEM subject.
• In the AI ​​field, you bring several years of demonstrable expertise in machine learning, LLMs, and agent architectures; a PhD or relevant research or industry experience is an advantage.
• You have already built and deployed productive AI solutions with LLMs, agents, prompt and skill design, RAG and tool use - not just prototypes.
• You are proficient in programming with Python and PowerShell, independently design and build interfaces, and are comfortable working in cloud and on-premises environments; ideally with experience in Azure (including Azure AI Foundry) and Linux.
• You work hands-on, delivery-oriented, and as part of a team with genuine curiosity and a willingness to continuously learn.
• Excellent German and good English skills complete your profile.
• Furthermore, we would be pleased if you bring the following: confident model selection and adaptation (including fine-tuning and the sense of when AI is truly the better choice), experience in handling AI-generated code, knowledge of data protection and EU AI regulations, as well as SAP experience or an understanding of data integration and business processes.
