Your tasks:
You will become part of a 35-person team of tech-savvy sensor, IoT, and hardware engineers. Together with your colleagues, you will be responsible for the following tasks:
You are developing a multi-sensor perception and fusion system for the drone early warning system.
You build the backend that allows machine learning and AI models to run directly on local sensors instead of on cloud servers.
You are working on real-time networking of highly scalable distributed systems.
You are implementing scalable intelligence with low-latency intelligence.
You build architectures from scratch to support simulations, machine learning, and engineering workflows.
Together with the ML, MLOps and DevOps teams, you enable fast and secure deployments.
You monitor the systems, fix malfunctions, and continuously improve observability.
If you wish, you can support on-site operations, collect sensor data, and validate the technology in controlled field trials.
Your profile:
Due to security regulations for this role, citizenship of an EU member state is a requirement.
You are officially registered in an EU country.
At least 5 years of professional experience in the IT field (e.g., in network engineering).
At least 2 years of full-time professional experience as a Software Engineer in the IoT environment .
At least 1 year of professional experience with the embedded Linux ecosystem.
Excellent knowledge of Golang, C/C++, Bash and Kubernetes.
First cloud experience.
You have worked for the same employer for at least 2 consecutive years.
Fluent English; any additional languages spoken are a plus.
You enjoy working in the defense sector.
You thrive in a dynamic startup or scaleup environment.
You are motivated to work exclusively in an operational and hands-on role (not in management) for the next 3-5 years.
Ideally, experience with fleet data, Python and relevant frameworks, MLOps, DevOps.
Ideally, you are willing to travel to the field trials for 2-3 days per quarter.
