As part of our Automation Engineer Platform team, you will be responsible for the fundamental operational stability, reliability, and automation of our platforms, including StackStorm (event-driven automation) and Rundeck (runbook automation).

Your tasks

  • Platform Operations & Evolution: You keep our central automation services running, optimize performance, and establish modern best practices for platform operations.
  • Cloud & Container Orchestration: As a cloud-native expert, you will manage and orchestrate our container landscape based on Kubernetes.
  • Pure automation: You program smart scripts and tools to eliminate recurring tasks and take efficiency to the next level.
  • CI/CD & GitOps: You will refine our CI/CD pipelines according to SRE principles. You will rely fully on GitOps and tools such as Azure DevOps, OpenTofu, ArgoCD and Helm charts.
  • Monitoring & Security: With Grafana and OpenTelemetry, you build a proactive monitoring and logging system so that we can detect problems before they occur.
  • Incident Response: If a fire does break out, you keep a cool head, confidently analyze the cause and quickly get the system back on track.

Your profile

  • Your foundation: A degree in (business) informatics, training as an IT specialist or a comparable IT qualification with relevant professional experience.
  • Your tech stack: You are absolutely proficient in Kubernetes and Infrastructure as Code (OpenTofu / Terraform).
  • Your expertise: GitOps (ArgoCD) and modern CI/CD pipelines are not new territory for you, but standard practice.
  • Your mindset: You think like an SRE (Site Reliability Engineer) – monitoring (Grafana/OpenTelemetry) and structured incident management are part of your job.
  • Your tools: You are proficient in Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
  • Your communication skills: Since we communicate closely internally and with partners, very good German skills (at least C1 level) and good English skills are a given for you.
