Your responsibilities
- Representation of the field of Cybersecurity Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) with a focus on organizational information security; this includes, among other things, auditing, risk and compliance management, technical and organizational data protection measures, and business continuity in teaching and applied research.
- Development and representation of a study focus within the aforementioned subject area
- Conducting further courses at Bachelor's and Master's level as well as within the framework of the doctoral program
- Taking over research and development activities
- Proactive acquisition of third-party funding through research and transfer activities
- Practice-oriented teaching in German and English as well as in digital formats (e-learning, blended learning)
- Substantive and strategic development of the areas of expertise with special consideration of digitalization
- Teaching of basic subjects and related fields of study.
- High-quality supervision of practical, bachelor's and master's theses as well as doctoral dissertations.
- Commitment to establishing new and maintaining existing international partnerships
- Active and interdisciplinary participation in the academic self-governance of the university

- A university degree (Diploma [Univ.] or combination of Bachelor and Master's) is preferred, preferably in the field of computer science, business informatics or a comparable subject.
- Relevant professional experience in responsible roles in organizational information security/governance/compliance, e.g., CISO, ISB, ISMS/GRC management, IT audit/lead audit, data protection or risk/BCM
- Experience with common frameworks/regulations (e.g., ISO/IEC 27001/27005/27701, BSI Basic Protection/C5, ISO 22301, NIS2/DORA, SOC 2/ISAE, TISAX) is desirable.
- Excellent English skills as well as the ability and willingness to conduct courses in English.

Employment requirements according to Art. 57 (3) BayHIG
- Completed university degree, preferably in computer science, business informatics or a similar field
- Special aptitude for scientific work, which is usually demonstrated by the quality of a doctoral dissertation.
- Pedagogical suitability
- Exceptional achievements in the application or development of scientific knowledge and methods in at least five years of professional practice, acquired after completion of university studies, of which at least three years must have been outside the higher education sector. In special cases, proof of professional practice outside the higher education sector can be provided by demonstrating that, over a period of at least five years, a significant portion of the professional activity was carried out in cooperation between a university and non-university professional practice (pursuant to Article 57, Paragraph 3, Sentence 1, No. 3 of the Bavarian Higher Education Act).
The university is committed to increasing the proportion of women, particularly in academic positions (Art. 7 para. 3 BayGlG). Applicants with disabilities will be given preference if their qualifications, skills, and professional performance are otherwise essentially equal. Appointments to civil servant status are possible for candidates who have not yet reached the age of 52; otherwise, employment will be on a contractual basis. An aptitude assessment by an external personnel consultancy is part of the standard selection process. The professorship includes the obligation to offer courses at all university locations.
