Your role
In this position you will lead two teams that form the core of our product:

Machine Learning / Data Science: Focus on Pricing & Forecasting.

Agentic Application (Greenfield): You are building this team from scratch to develop a completely new, AI-driven product .
You will be responsible for people management (disciplinary) for both teams. Your task is to bridge the gap between complex machine learning models and a scalable product. You will work closely with our staff engineers (full-stack & machine learning) who define the technical guidelines and architecture.
Your tasks

Team Building & Scaling

You will build the new "Agentic Application" unit. In the first phase, you will manage the development with external partners and freelancers, while simultaneously recruiting the internal team.

You are responsible for the entire hiring process (interview loops, case design, final decisions).

You are a coach and mentor for your teams. You take care of feedback, individual development paths, and healthy team dynamics.

You create structures in which engineering quality and reliable delivery go hand in hand.

Execution & Processes

You establish a system for planning and release cycles that is suitable for a startup.

You ensure that ML experiments and frontend features mesh meaningfully and that we learn quickly through measurability (e.g., A/B tests).

Product focus

You work closely with the product team on the roadmap and make pragmatic decisions regarding trade-offs between UX, technical risk, and speed.

Your profile

Background: You bring experience as an Engineering Manager or as a Tech Lead with a clear focus on People & Processes.

Builder mentality: You have a passion for taking a team from 0 to 1 and establishing processes where they are still lacking.

Communication: You can mediate between ML experts, app developers and product managers – without bullshit bingo, but clearly and solution-oriented.

Stakeholder management: You have experience not only managing external service providers, but also leading them operationally in such a way that no uncontrolled technical growth occurs. You know how to combine external speed with internal quality standards.

Languages: Fluent German and English.
