About the area
The CFM Metrology TEST department is responsible for the manufacturing control methods and the operation of all measurement and inspection equipment at Fab1 in Dresden. It ensures the operation of devices and systems required for acquiring, monitoring, and analyzing measurement data (e.g., substrate thickness, critical dimensions of process results, superposition of successive process steps) of semiconductor products, as well as for detecting and classifying defects that occur during their manufacture. Providing and maintaining a flexible, highly automated manufacturing environment, along with its error-free and effective configuration and use, is of paramount importance. The continuous expansion of the functional diversity of the systems and applications, and the provision of various data types for the department and other user groups within the factory, is the core task of our team.
Job profile
Participation in the specialist group “Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence” on the project “Virtual Metrology”.
Development and improvement of machine learning models and the necessary data pipelines for the deployment of the application into production.
Development of reports and dashboards (including Spotfire, PowerBI, QlikView) for our internal clients in the specialist departments using efficient database queries (including SQL, Elasticsearch).
Integration of additional machine types, development of functions for implementing new applications, ensuring the production capability of the system and daily operation including troubleshooting of the Virtual Metrology application; if necessary, preparation of a rollout at the site or in other factories.
Sustainable, strategic planning, as well as professional communication and implementation of implementation and improvement projects.
Supporting activities within the Digital Leadership Programme, e.g. providing data for Global Foundries' cloud applications.
Development of a monitoring solution for monitoring the Virtual Metrology applications and systems of the department (including ELK-Stack or OpenSearch, SPC monitoring).
Creating detailed software documentation and change management.
Required qualifications
The challenging and diverse tasks of the Engineer Machine Learning CFM Metrology Systems position require a high degree of personal responsibility and excellent organizational skills. The work often involves cross-functional collaboration – working with other teams and extending beyond one's own technical area.
This position is particularly aimed at recent graduates/new college graduates.
Bachelor's/Master's degree or comparable university/university of applied sciences degree in computer science, business informatics, mathematics or comparable technical degree.
Technical knowledge of the use of common software technologies and methods, especially cloud-native applications.
Ability to deal with complexity while simultaneously communicating abstractly.
Capturing and analyzing business and production processes.
Good and practical knowledge of at least one scripting or programming language is required (ideally in the areas of PowerShell or Linux Shell, Groovy, Python or Java).
They are characterized by strong goal orientation, results-driven approach, and teamwork skills, and possess an independent work style. They are familiar with the application of project management methods.
Practical language skills in German and English (at least C1 level).
Desired qualifications
IT Service Management basic know-how (Software Change Management, Deployment and Support Documentation).
Knowledge of SQL.
Knowledge of current Fab applications including MES (SiView, SPC/FDC systems) as well as initial experience with the process modules of semiconductor manufacturing.
