CERT@VDE is the first independent cybersecurity platform in Germany for companies in the field of embedded software systems.

As a coordinating product security institute (PSIRT), we have been working with our industry partners for eight years to ensure a knowledge advantage along the value chain, enabling a rapid and structured response to current cyber threats.
Increasing connectivity raises the risk of exploiting security vulnerabilities and, consequently, the risk of attacks, whether in the context of operational technology (OT security), smart homes, or Industry 4.0. The CERT@VDE team helps companies respond appropriately to these threats and communicate security vulnerabilities.

Your tasks:

• Capturing and documenting customer and internal processes as the basis for a CERT@VDE manual
• Literature review
• Support in optimizing workflows at CERT
• Alignment with regulatory and normative requirements (CRA, IEC 62443)

• Currently enrolled in a scientific field (computer science, business informatics, information technology, electrical engineering)
• Practical experience in the cybersecurity field is desirable.
• Initial knowledge in the "embedded systems" area (e.g. automation technology, OT security, ICS)
• Knowledge in the areas of incident handling and vulnerability management is desirable.
• Process knowledge of the automation industry
• Structured and organized problem-solving skills
• Communication skills and information management skills

• Working in a strong team in the cybersecurity environment
• Insights into current security vulnerabilities, OT security, IoT & relevant standards
• Collaboration with companies, authorities and security experts
• Responsible tasks with real impact
• The knowledge and work can be consolidated by continuing it in a bachelor's or master's thesis.
• Mobile and flexible working after consultation with the manager
• Your hourly wage is €15.00 (gross)
• You will receive holiday and Christmas bonuses.
• Working hours: Part-time (max. 20 hours/week); up to 40 hours/week are possible during lecture-free periods.
