Acht Data Scientists (m/w/d)

The "Reporting Financial Data" department is responsible for the conception and implementation of data collection (mostly in the context of the ESCB) as well as the collection, transformation, linking, quality assurance and provision to the ECB of data and statistics on financial institutions and their activities.

  • In the agile team, you will actively shape the development, implementation and operation of data-driven solutions for regulatory reporting.
  • You automate and optimize data pipelines using Python and SQL for efficient and quality-assured processing of large amounts of financial data.
  • By using machine learning, you automate and improve processes and data quality in reporting.
  • You will further develop our data collection methods and design innovative testing and validation procedures.
  • You will be in regular contact with international partners, especially the ECB and ESCB, and will present your results.
  • You bring new technologies such as LLMs and cloud architectures into practice and integrate suitable approaches into existing processes.

Key assets: Your qualifications

  • Master's degree or equivalent with a quantitative focus (e.g., computer science, business informatics, mathematics, physics, engineering with a focus on computer science)
  • Excellent programming skills in Python and SQL
  • Good knowledge of machine learning and statistical modeling
  • Prior experience with Big Data, ideally in distributed systems or cloud environments, is desirable.
  • Good knowledge of the financial and securities markets as well as the business models of financial companies is desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills in German
  • Excellent English skills (to be demonstrated by our aptitude test)
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills (to be demonstrated through our aptitude test)
  • Strong ability to analyze, evaluate and concisely present complex issues
  • Independent yet team-oriented work style
