In this role, you will support demanding customer projects in the areas of data, digitalization and AI, and develop modern data platforms for analytics and data-driven applications – with a direct impact on data-based business models and AI applications.

These are your tasks

  • Participation in data and digitization projects as well as active involvement in the design of modern data architectures.
  • Analysis of functional requirements and translation into technical specifications in close coordination with customers and stakeholders.
  • Development and optimization of data models (e.g., Star Schema, Data Vault)
  • Design, development and operation of data pipelines (ETL/ELT, batch and streaming)
  • Integration, transformation and modeling of structured and unstructured data
  • Ensuring data quality, data consistency, and monitoring of data flows
  • Providing data for analysis, reporting and AI applications (e.g. via APIs and services)
  • Implementation and further development of cloud-based data platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure, Snowflake)
  • Performance and cost optimization of data processing and platforms
  • Consulting for clients on data architectures and data-driven solutions
  • Collaboration with data scientists, software developers and specialist departments

This is what you bring with you

  • Completed studies in computer science, mathematics, physics or comparable practical experience
  • Practical experience in data engineering or related fields
  • Excellent knowledge of SQL and at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Scala, or Java)
  • Experience in data modeling and with ETL/ELT processes
  • Experience in building and operating data pipelines
  • Knowledge of cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure)
  • Experience with big data and streaming technologies (e.g., Spark, Kafka)
  • Ideally, experience with data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, Microsoft Fabric)
  • Interest in using AI-supported tools to increase development efficiency and code quality
  • Structured work style and very good German and English skills
  • Willingness to travel occasionally
