To strengthen our team in Düsseldorf , we are looking for an Associate (m/f/d) with two to four years of relevant professional experience in the field of Cybersecurity, AI & Privacy .
Your role
In our internationally oriented team, you will advise national and international clients – often globally operating corporations and technology-driven companies – on demanding legal and regulatory issues at the intersection of cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and data protection.
Your work will focus on cybersecurity: from preventative compliance and managing cyber crises to representing clients in regulatory proceedings. You will support clients in assessing regulatory risks, developing and implementing robust compliance structures, and dealing with authorities as well as internal and external stakeholders.
Your responsibilities include, in particular:
- Cybersecurity Compliance & Governance: Consulting on IT security requirements, particularly according to NIS2, DORA, the Cyber Resilience Act and the Critical Entities Directive; development and implementation of robust cybersecurity structures.
- Incident Response & Cyber Crisis Management: legal support for cyber incidents and data breaches
- AI regulation: Consulting on the AI Act, particularly at the interface with cybersecurity
- Data protection: Consulting on GDPR compliance and data protection issues
- Administrative proceedings: Representation of clients before data protection and cybersecurity authorities
- Contract drafting & transactions: Participation in M&A transactions and contract negotiations related to cybersecurity, AI and data processing
Your profile:
- Two outstanding state law exams
- Ideally, two to four years of professional experience in the field of data protection law, IT law, cybersecurity or digital regulation.
- A sound interest in technical, regulatory and entrepreneurial contexts
- A good understanding of the challenges faced by international clients in the areas of cybersecurity and data protection.
- Excellent English skills
- Teamwork skills, initiative and enjoyment of challenging client work
- A careful and structured approach to work
