In a senior role, you will actively shape strategies and technologies that will allow us to trade energy even more intelligently through automation and AI .

Your impact with us – strategically & technologically leading:
  • You will develop scalable algorithmic trading strategies for short-term markets across the EU (day-ahead, intraday) with a focus on electricity and gas – your main focus will be on portfolio management and proprietary trading strategies.
  • You will assume portfolio responsibility, including P&L and risk management, and actively contribute to optimizing the economic success of our trading portfolios, and your performance will be measured by this success.
  • Your algorithms improve the marketing of our clients' assets – especially with regard to forecast errors, balancing energy markets and balancing energy costs.
  • You will develop and improve analytical dashboards and reports using modern business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) to support operational decisions and strategy development.
  • You conduct complex backtesting analyses to validate and continuously improve trading strategies and model performance, with particular attention to volatile feeds and market prices.
  • You develop and refine data- and AI-based trading decisions to optimize the profitability of flexibility assets and actively manage daily trading – also in the context of avoiding balancing energy and participating in balancing energy markets.
  • You will work closely with other trading departments to create a comprehensive analysis platform, thereby continuously improving our market analyses and future strategies.
  • You use modern cloud and IT technologies (e.g. Azure) to automate and scale trading processes.
  • Fluent German and English skills complete your profile.
What you bring to the table – in-depth know-how & innovative spirit:
  • A completed degree in computer science, mathematics, physics, data science, electrical engineering or a comparable STEM degree program.
  • Several years of experience in algorithmic energy trading, energy industry or AI/ML applications in volatile markets.
  • Solid knowledge in the development, training and operationalization of AI/machine learning models (e.g. time series analysis, reinforcement learning, gradient boosting, LLMs optional).
  • Excellent programming skills in Python (including common libraries such as Pandas, Scikit-learn, PyTorch, or TensorFlow). Knowledge of SQL, Go, C++, Matlab, or R is a plus.
  • You think analytically, in a structured and economic way – and at the same time bring a passion for innovation and a sense of personal responsibility.
  • Excellent communication skills in German and English to convey complex information to both internal and external audiences in a manner appropriate to the target group.
