We are developing an operational intelligence platform for energy, environmental, building, and process data . The platform collects technical operational data from decentralized customer locations, processes it in a central data platform, and makes it available for monitoring, analysis, and operational decision-making.
In this way, we support companies in making energy and resource consumption transparent, reducing emissions and making technical processes more efficient.
YOUR ENTRY WITH US
You will take over an existing and well-documented backend application based on Node.js, PostgreSQL and TimescaleDB.
Together with our software developers, engineers and subject matter experts, you will work your way systematically into the existing architecture and data flows of our platform.
You will then gradually take on responsibility for the further development of the API, the database and the central backend functions.
Our engineers handle the integration of meters, sensors, machines, and building systems, as well as the processing of the respective OT protocols. Your responsibilities begin with the acquisition of standardized data and include its processing, storage, and provision.
YOUR TASKS
- Maintenance and further development of our existing Node.js application
- Design and development of REST APIs
- Development of new backend and platform features
- Further development of the data models in PostgreSQL and TimescaleDB
- Development and optimization of high-performance SQL queries
- Processing, validation and aggregation of technical time series data
- Development of calculation and evaluation logics
- Analysis and correction of errors throughout the entire data flow.
- Further development of logging, monitoring and automated testing
- Participation in authentication, authorization and security concepts
- Documentation of technical functions, interfaces and architectural decisions
- Contributing to the design of future software and data architecture
YOUR PROFILE
Basic requirements
- practical experience in backend or software development
- good knowledge of JavaScript or TypeScript
- Experience with Node.js and the development of REST APIs
- Good knowledge of SQL and relational databases
- Experience with PostgreSQL or similar database systems
- Safe handling of Git and version control
- Ability to analyze and further develop existing applications in a structured manner

Suitable backgrounds
- IT specialist for application development
- Software developer with practical backend experience
- Computer science or business informatics graduates with development experience
- Engineers with in-depth programming and database knowledge
- Data Engineers or Platform Engineers specializing in backend and databases

- Knowledge of Docker and Linux
- Experience with automated testing and CI/CD
- Knowledge of monitoring and central logging
- Experience with Grafana
- Basic knowledge of VPN, TLS and certificate management
- Experience with large data sets or technical measurement data
- Interest in energy efficiency, environmental protection and resource conservation
Experience with all the technologies mentioned is not required. What is crucial is that you understand complex technical concepts, develop maintainable software, and are willing to take responsibility for a production platform.
