We advise statutory health and long-term care insurance funds in Berlin and Brandenburg on all social medicine and nursing care issues. Our tasks are as diverse as we are: recommending care levels, conducting quality inspections in hospitals and care facilities, assessing rehabilitation services, and much more. To consolidate and further expand our existing AI applications, we are strengthening our AI team to strategically develop the necessary infrastructure. To strengthen our team, we are seeking a full-time employee for the Organizational Development/Quality Management department at our Berlin location, Lise-Meitner-Straße 1, 10589 Berlin, to start as soon as possible. This position is initially limited to two years and preferably full-time.

AI & Data Architect AI Infrastructure (m/f/d)

Our aim is to ensure that AI is used responsibly and within a legally compliant framework. We understand AI as a supporting tool in the preparation of expert work and assessment processes. Responsibility for decisions always remains with our subject matter experts.

Their mission: To enable a new AI infrastructure, connect existing systems, and design viable solutions.

You will be working in our interdisciplinary AI team, which is currently being established. Your task will be to set up a new, secure, and sustainable AI infrastructure. For this, we are looking for a creative individual who can identify technical possibilities, explore solution spaces, and derive robust architectural decisions from requirements.

What you will be doing with us:

AI infrastructure & solution architecture

  • Conception and development of a new AI infrastructure as well as further development of the data infrastructure for the use of LLMs with existing systems for the preparation of expert opinion processes with sensitive social data
  • Development of viable interface and integration architectures for existing specialist procedures, data sources, platforms and IT systems.
  • Definition of technical guidelines, architectural principles, security requirements and implementation standards for AI applications and data infrastructure
  • Evaluation of solution options with regard to feasibility, data protection, information security, scalability, maintainability and operation.
  • Enabling creative, practical solutions that combine professional requirements, regulatory frameworks, and technical reality.

Control implementation & ensure quality

  • Professional and technical translation of target images into architectural decisions, integration concepts and implementable work packages.
  • Managing the technical implementation together with IT, specialist departments and external service providers
  • Ensuring the responsible handling of sensitive data and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Development of comprehensible documentation for architecture, interfaces, data flows, operational requirements and decision-making criteria.

What you should bring:

  • Completed studies in computer science, business informatics, data analytics, data science or a related field or comparable qualification with relevant professional experience
  • Several years of experience in the field of software architecture, data architecture, system integration or technical solution architecture
  • Solid knowledge of AI applications, data infrastructure, interfaces, system design, security requirements and modern development processes.
  • A strong awareness of data protection and information security, as well as knowledge of the regulatory requirements for the development and integration of AI applications.
  • Architectural thinking with a focus on long-term sustainability and practical feasibility.
  • Strong communication skills at the interface between expertise, IT and management
  • Sense of responsibility, decisiveness and a high quality orientation
  • Fluent German skills, both spoken and written
