FINOPS DATA ANALYST & CONSULTANT (M/F/D)

Tasks

• You analyze commitment usage, reservation coverage, and cost trends across cloud, AI/ML, SaaS, and on-premises .
• Derivation of optimization recommendations (rightsizing, discount strategies, anomaly detection)
• You create spend forecasts and variance analyses that enable informed decisions.
• Validation of cloud-native forecasting tools and collaboration on ML-based forecasting models
• You design dashboards and reports for technical and executive audiences.
• Definition of FinOps KPIs and integration into live reporting systems
• You automate reporting, alerting and data pipelines (Power Automate, Python, SQL)
• Development of tagging strategies, taxonomy design, and showback and chargeback models.
• You develop FinOps blueprints and playbooks for scalable, reusable solutions.
• Contribution to training courses, lectures and publications within and outside of Reply
• You are expanding into new areas: FinOps for AI, SaaS and Sustainability
• Close collaboration with client stakeholders – you translate analytical results into strategic recommendations.
• You will support the development of offers and the building of sustainable customer relationships.

Qualifications

• Completed studies in Data Analytics, Finance, Business Administration, Computer Science, Business Informatics, IT Management or a related field
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to confidently interpret financial data
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Understanding of agile frameworks and experience in consulting or project management
• Experience with at least one of the major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Experience with SQL, Python or R for data analysis and automation
• Experience with BI tools (Power BI, Apptio BI / TBM Studio, Tableau)
• Confident use of Excel and PowerQuery
• Understanding of cloud billing data structures (AWS CUR, Azure Cost Export, GCP BigQuery Billing)
• Proactive, self-organized work style – you drive topics forward independently.
• Cloud certifications or a FinOps Practitioner certification are a plus, but not a requirement.
• Knowledge of cloud cost management tools (Cloudability, Flexera, Kubecost, Infracost) is advantageous.
• Experience with ML frameworks or cloud-native forecasting tools is a plus, but not a must.
• Interest in community building, public speaking, and content creation is a plus, but not a requirement.
• Excellent German skills and good English skills
