Student for thesis in the MO360 Product Owner Team – focus on data analytics & application development

You don't just want to analyze data, but build real applications that are used in vehicle production? Your thesis in the MO360 Product Owner Team focuses precisely on that: developing and testing data-driven applications.

Our MO360 Product Owner (MO/ETS) team is responsible for the central design, implementation, and management of digitalization for the global production network of Mercedes-Benz Cars Operations (MO). MO360 is our digital backbone for vehicle production. In a dedicated team, you will work on the conception, development, and enhancement of MO360 applications – acting as a liaison between the business unit/customer and our development partners. These are the challenges you will face:

• Contributing to the development and further development of MO360 applications with a focus on data analytics

• Analysis and processing of large data sets as well as the design of analysis and reporting solutions for data-driven decisions

• Identification and conception of new AI/data use cases for production

• Testing and support of the release process of new application versions (including release management)

• Close collaboration between the customer/department and development partners: gathering requirements, translating them, and supporting their implementation.

• Using Generative AI to systematically link business data points and support development processes

The work can begin from October 2026.

The final topic will be chosen in consultation with the university, you, and us.

• Studies in the field of Data Science, (Business) Informatics, Information Management, Digital Transformation/Business or similar.

• Programming skills are required (e.g., Python, SQL, etc.).

• Initial experience or interest in data analysis, application development, and testing

• Fluent German and English skills, both spoken and written.

• Analytical thinking and a structured, reliable work ethic

• Strong communication skills and a passion for collaboration at interfaces – you can mediate between technical and specialist contacts.
