Junior Data Engineer (Databricks) (m/f/d)

Tasks

• Contributing to the development and further development of modern data platforms and data architectures , e.g., based on Data Lakehouse and Medallion architectures.
• Development and optimization of data pipelines for data processing and integration. Working with technologies such as Databricks, Apache Spark, SQL and Python.
• Support for using and integrating Databricks components such as Unity Catalog
• Contributing to the implementation of data governance, security, and compliance
• Support in setting up customer demos and technical proofs of concept
• Collaboration with experienced colleagues and cross-functional teams in agile projects
• Contributing to CI/CD processes , automations and Infrastructure-as-Code, e.g. with Terraform
• Exchange with customers and internal stakeholders, as well as support in implementing technical requirements.

qualification

• Completed studies in (business) informatics, mathematics, physics, statistics or a comparable field
• Initial practical experience in the field of data engineering , for example through internships, working student positions, theses or initial professional experience
• Basic knowledge of SQL and a programming language such as Python
• Prior experience with Databricks, Apache Spark, or similar data engineering technologies is advantageous.
• Ideally, you have some prior knowledge of a cloud platform such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
• Interest in topics such as data lakes, data warehouses, ETL/ELT and modern data architectures
• Enjoy learning about new technologies and continuously developing your professional skills.
• Enjoyment of teamwork and direct interaction with customers
• Fluent German (C1) and English skills.
• Willingness to travel within the DACH region
• Salary range for this position: €55,000 to €65,000 gross per year. Final classification depends on experience and skillset.
