Statistician (m/f/d)
Starting at €4,500 gross per month · Clear increase based on results · Small team, big responsibility
What it's about
We support medical professionals throughout their doctoral studies—from methodology and analysis to the finished dissertation. Our clients are not students, but mature professionals who need to deliver. You are the person who makes sure that happens.
Specifically, this means you take on projects from the initial methodological discussion to the final submission. You analyze data (R, Python, SPSS, MAXQDA — depending on the project requirements), revise scientific texts, explain methods calmly and clearly to doctoral students, give feedback, meet deadlines, and make decisions without needing someone to hold your hand.
Honestly
We are a small company with a high work rate and high efficiency. We need meticulous, dedicated, and resilient people who work methodically, want above-average pay, and want to be part of a growing company from the very beginning.
In return, you get something a corporation can't offer: your own projects from day one, direct customer contact, visible impact, and advancement that is measured by your results and not by your length of service.
What you do
- Guiding medical students through the entire doctoral process — methodology, statistics, writing, structure
- Statistical and qualitative analyses are provided (R, Python, SPSS, MAXQDA)
- Doctoral students patiently and clearly explain methods — in writing and in conversation
- Revise scientific texts, provide feedback, ensure methodological rigor
- Coordinating multiple parallel projects — deadlines, quality, customer contact
- Use AI and automation tools in a way that makes you faster and better than you would be without them.
- Communicate clearly with professors, departments and research centers
What you bring
- University degree (Bachelor's or Master's) in Statistics, Psychology (empirical/quantitative), Social Sciences (quantitative), Business Mathematics, Business Administration with a focus on empirical research, Mathematics, Public Health (quantitative), or a comparable field. A doctorate is not required and does not offer any advantage.
- Structured, methodical approach to work. You plan before you start. You work carefully rather than hastily. You recognize inconsistencies in data or texts that others overlook.
- Down-to-earth. You've already done real work in your life—restaurants, construction, nursing, compulsory service, warehouse work, supply jobs, physical labor alongside your studies. Anyone who's ever worked a 10-hour shift in a kitchen or on a construction site knows what honest work means.
- Current statistical practice. You have worked specifically with R, Python, SPSS or MAXQDA in the last 12 months — not just during your studies.
- Experience in explaining methods —as a tutor, private tutor, teaching assistant, student assistant in a university setting, or in a comparable role. Anyone who has calmly explained statistics to learners possesses the most important soft skill.
- Emotional stability. If a client panics, you remain calm. If three urgent cases are piling up simultaneously, you prioritize them methodically instead of letting yourself be swept away. You take mistakes objectively, not personally.
- Personal responsibility and commitment. You structure your own day, meet deadlines, and deliver reliably — even when no one is looking over your shoulder.
- Resilience during intense phases — no fair-weather mentality.
- German at C2 level — you must be able to correct texts and argue clearly but respectfully with senior clients.
- A desire for the private sector, not a university atmosphere.
Professional experience is an advantage , but not a requirement. We also accept recent graduates with a strong tutor track. Two to five years of professional experience in data-driven fields (market research, pharmaceutical sales support, junior analytics, clinical trials) will give you an edge.
What we offer
- Salary: From €4,500 gross, with real increases in the first 6–12 months depending on results.
- Advancement based on performance: Those who deliver rise quickly — affiliation doesn't count
- Real responsibility: Your own projects, your own clients, your own decisions — from day one.
- Professional environment: MacBook, modern tools, AI stack — no DIY solutions
- Clear structures: Max. 2-3 people per office, no corporate politics, no pointless meetings
- Development: Methodical, technical and entrepreneurial — you really grow here
Whom we are not looking for
We're not looking for academics who want to stay in the research bubble. No theorists who get lost in details without delivering results. No people who reduce "work-life balance" to a mere number of hours worked. Anyone who is slow, unreliable, or conflict-averse won't be happy here—and neither will we.
We are looking for someone who works calmly, methodically and in a results-oriented manner — and wants to be paid accordingly.
