Become a member of the expert team at one of Germany's most successful IT security service providers. We are looking for working students for our various departments with diverse opportunities. With us, you'll be integrated into a team and receive the support and assistance you need. We support and promote your professional and personal development with training courses and suitable mentoring and coaching programs. You will be part of a 3-person development team responsible for the operation and in-house development of applications, including the integration and further development of core systems (ERP Business Central, CRM, ITSM), internal tools, and the establishment of a central data lake as the basis for company-wide reporting. You can expect short decision-making processes, direct collaboration with specialist departments and management, and a clearly defined role – not just supporting other tasks.
Your tasks
- You connect data sources from ERP, CRM and ITSM to the data lake and contribute to the development of the loading routes.
- You clean, link, and transform raw data into analyzable data models.
- You will contribute to the development of a reusable key performance indicator (KPI) layer with standardized definitions (e.g., revenue, capacity utilization, ticket volume).
- You will assist with the selection and setup of the BI tool.
- You create standard dashboards for management and specialist departments.
- You will create report templates and quick guides so that departments can generate their own analyses.
- You are the contact person for questions regarding the data model and report construction.
- You document data sources, field meanings, and key figure definitions.
This is what you bring with you
- You are studying (business) informatics, data science, statistics, mathematics or economics with a quantitative focus (from the 3rd semester onwards).
- You have solid SQL skills (joins, aggregations, window functions).
- You have practical experience with at least one BI tool (Power BI, Tableau, Metabase, Looker or similar), also from study projects.
- You can gather technical requirements from the specialist departments and translate them into a technical data model: You actively ask for clarification in case of unclear requests, clarify key figure definitions and differentiate the actual information requirement from the expressed wish.
- You present yourself confidently in discussions with specialist departments and management and can explain technical matters in a way that is understandable to non-technical contacts.
- You work in a structured and independent manner.
- You are available for at least 16 hours per week.
- You have German language skills at C1 level, both spoken and written.
Optionally, that would be a plus:
- You have knowledge of PostgreSQL.
- You have experience with Python (pandas) or dbt.
- You have a basic understanding of data modeling (star schema, fact and dimension tables).
- You know your way around Git.
- You have experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or HaloPSA.
- You are interested in IT security and managed service business models.
