Your tasks

As a working student in the Margining Risk Reporting team, you will support the development of data pipelines and dashboards that provide decision-relevant information for decision-makers at Uniper. In this role, you will work with SQL, Power BI, and the Microsoft Power Platform to further automate existing processes, contribute to new reporting initiatives, and ensure that the reporting infrastructure remains adapted to evolving business requirements.

You will gain practical experience at the interface of data engineering, risk management and energy markets, working closely with experienced colleagues from various business areas.

  • You will support the continuous maintenance of the Margining Risk Reporting infrastructure in response to changing stakeholder requirements.
  • You develop, maintain, and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and data transformations in Snowflake SQL, and proactively contribute suggestions for improving logic and ETL processes.
  • You will support the design, prototyping, setup, and optimization of modern dashboards and interactive reports using the Power BI platform.
  • You work closely with stakeholders from Risk Management, Data Management and Front Office to translate requirements into reliable data solutions.
  • You support upstream projects in user acceptance testing.
  • You design, develop, and optimize data pipelines to support process automation and AI use cases.

Your profile

  • You are currently enrolled in a degree program in the field of Data Science, Economics, Risk Management, Finance, Mathematics, Business Informatics or a comparable subject.
  • You have a strong interest in energy markets and financial risk management in a trading environment.
  • Prior practical experience in writing and reviewing SQL queries is a must.
  • Prior experience with Power BI (including DAX queries) and Microsoft Power Automate is advantageous.
  • Ideally, you already have some experience with data warehousing and cloud platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Oracle, Microsoft Cloud) or are motivated to learn about these topics.
  • You possess strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities, and you have good stakeholder and process management skills.
  • You have very good written and spoken English skills (German is a plus).
    You are available for a period of 12 months.
