Big Data / ML Engineering Internship / Working Student (m/f/d)
Are you studying computer science, data science, business informatics, or a related field and would like to gain initial practical experience in big data and machine learning?

Job description
- Support in the collection, preparation and analysis of data sets;
- Insights into the development and optimization of data pipelines;
- Participation in prototypical ML models and supervised use cases;
- Analysis of model results and derivation of possible improvements together with the team;
- Insights into tools for storing and processing large amounts of data.
Expected qualifications
- Studies in computer science, data science, business informatics, mathematics, statistics or a comparable subject;
- Basic knowledge of Python, OOP and algorithms;
- Basic knowledge of SQL;
- Basic understanding of Big Data, statistics and probability theory;
- Interest in machine learning, data engineering, and modern AI solutions;
- German language skills from B2 level;
- English language skills at level B2 or higher are an advantage.
Nice to have:
- Initial experience with big data technologies such as Spark, Hadoop or Kafka;
- Basic knowledge of OLAP vs. OLTP, data warehouse, data lake, normalization and denormalization;
- Understanding of classic ML algorithms, e.g., linear models, decision trees, ensemble methods, clustering, or dimensionality reduction;
- Initial contact with distributed systems, e.g. MapReduce, MPP or Sharding;
- Experience with NumPy, Pandas, scikit-learn or visualization libraries;
- First experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow;
- First contact with backend development or DevOps.

Contract model:
