You will learn this with us

This 7-month advanced training program is a targeted upskilling course for controlling professionals: You will expand your existing controlling experience with the data skills that are now required in many positions. You will learn to clearly define key performance indicators (KPIs), analyze data in a structured manner, and translate results into meaningful reports and dashboards. This will strengthen your profile precisely where it matters most in the application process – and increase your chances of quickly finding a suitable controlling position again.

The training is divided into three practical modules:

SQL & Microsoft Azure: Securely analyze controlling data and derive reliable KPIs (11 weeks)

You will learn how data is typically structured in companies (e.g., from ERP, finance, sales) and how to reliably create analyses from it using SQL. From standard queries to advanced SQL techniques, you will develop the ability to analyze data in a verifiable, consistent, and traceable manner – a core requirement in controlling. Additionally, you will gain insights into Azure database services and data warehousing to better understand modern data landscapes.

Contents:

• Data in companies, KPI logic, ETL, SQL vs. NoSQL
• SQL from basic to advanced (JOINs, data integrity, timestamps, JSON, stored procedures)
• Data modeling (e.g., star schema) for reporting and controlling
• Azure databases, Cosmos DB, data warehousing & administration
• Final project (team, presentation)

Power BI Data Analyst: Professionally implement management reporting, forecasting logic and dashboards (10 weeks)

In this module, you will develop the ability to create management-ready reports from raw data. You will clean and transform data with Power Query, model it effectively, and build robust measures with DAX (e.g., actual/plan/forecast, variances, trends). You will learn best practices for dashboard design, performance, and publishing in the Power BI Service, including role and permission concepts (row-level security) – essential for controlling setups.

• Visualization, DAX measures, drill-through, advanced analytics & AI
• Dashboard design, performance, troubleshooting, paginated reports
• Power BI Service: Workspaces, Administration, Roles & Permissions, RLS
• Team final project + exam preparation Microsoft Power BI

JobReady: Sharpen your controlling profile, apply project methods and build up practical experience (8 weeks)

To help you quickly impress during the application process, you'll combine job market preparation with project management (including Scrum). In a practical project with partner companies, you'll apply your new skills in a realistic context and create results that you can showcase as a portfolio. Additionally, you'll receive preparation for the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) exam.

Your profile

• Language skills: German B1/B2, basic English skills are an advantage.
