Job description

We are looking for an experienced Sales Executive / Business Development Manager Defense to drive business development activities in the fields of Cybersecurity, Uncrewed Systems (UAS/Drones) and emerging defense technologies.

  • Identify, develop and win new business opportunities within the defense and security sector.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with defense customers, governmental organizations, procurement authorities and industrial partners.
  • Expand existing customer accounts through strategic business development activities.
  • Develop customer-specific sales strategies and account plans.
  • Lead commercial activities from opportunity identification through contract signature.
  • Coordinate complex proposals together with technical experts and operational teams.
  • Act as the primary commercial interface between customers and SGS technical/business units.
  • Support tenders, framework agreements and public procurement processes.
  • Monitor defense market developments, emerging technologies and competitive activities.
  • Represent SGS at defense exhibitions, conferences and customer events.
Qualifications
  • Several years of successful sales or business development experience within the defense, aerospace or security sector.
  • Military background (eg former member of the German Armed Forces), experience within defense administration or public procurement, or equivalent experience in the defense industry is highly desirable.
  • Good understanding of defense procurement processes and customer structures.
  • Knowledge of Cybersecurity, Defense IT, Uncrewed Systems (UAS), autonomous systems or related defense technologies.
  • Strong ability to prepare and coordinate complex commercial proposals and customer offers.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a high level of self-motivation and personal accountability.
  • Proven ability to work independently while managing multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Strong networking capabilities and customer-oriented mindset.
  • Fluent German and professional English language skills.
