Your contribution to TenneT
As an Enterprise Architect - Cybersecurity (m/f/d), you ensure that digital transformation and business strategy are securely enabled through a future-proof, business-aligned security architecture including governance and implementation roadmap.
You will work closely with the Enterprise Architect and relevant architecture roles and stakeholders to embed security guidelines as an integral part of the overall architecture (not as a separate entity). Additionally, you will guide the substantive work through the architecture community to ensure that decisions and architectural artifacts are consistent, transparent, and ready for action.
Your contribution to TenneT
- Target Security Architecture & Roadmap: You translate cyber trends, market dynamics, and new technologies into a target security architecture and a practical implementation roadmap, and ensure that this is followed as a binding reference point.
- Minimal Viable Architectures / Guardrails: You develop and establish minimal viable architectures, standards, reference models, principles and guardrails via the EA governance model as binding guidelines and consistently anchor security aspects in target architectures of other domains.
- Architecture Management & Decision Readiness: You prepare security architecture decisions, ensure the alignment of PSAs (Project Start Architectures) with the target architecture and principles, maintain the target security architecture including security components in other target architectures, and provide decision-ready documentation for boards.
- Gap analysis & stakeholder alignment: You assess the current architecture with regard to future business capabilities, derive clear decisions and courses of action, create alignment with business and IT leads, and resolve conflicts of interest between security requirements and business goals without blocking delivery.
- Governance & Success Measurement: You actively participate in the cybersecurity governance structures, support transparency, controllability and traceability, and measurably drive the organization towards "industry-leading resilience & cybersecurity".
Your profile
- Architecture and security experience: You have several years of experience in (enterprise/domain) architecture, ideally with a focus on security architecture as well as governance and committee work.
- Frameworks & Standards: You are proficient in using common EA and security frameworks and notations such as TOGAF, ArchiMate, NIST and ISO 27001; relevant certifications are an advantage.
- End-to-end architectural capability: You can harmonize security architecture with enterprise architecture, make it manageable across platforms, and derive concrete architectures, standards, and roadmaps from strategic requirements and risk contexts.
- Communication & Leadership without Disciplinary Power: You are strong in communication, stakeholder management and moderation and can lead without disciplinary power, act visibly and pragmatically and consistently enforce guardrails.
- Languages: You have fluent German and English skills, both spoken and written.

Our challenges
The Business Technology department plans, develops, and delivers secure, scalable IT solutions that support TenneT's strategic and operational requirements. It operates and maintains IT systems for business continuity and high availability, manages enterprise architecture, infrastructure, and service standards, and ensures cybersecurity compliance. The unit supports digital platforms and applications, fosters innovation through the integration of new technologies such as AI, data, cloud, and automation, and works closely with business units to translate digital requirements into IT roadmaps. It also manages IT vendors and accelerates internal processes through technology and simplification.
