For our headquarters in Leiningen (Koblenz region) , we are looking for a Senior Software Developer (m/f/d) who will help us with expertise and commitment to develop software for new medical products and individual modules and to help shape the future of our company.

Your tasks:

  • Technical management of development projects in the field of medical technology
  • Development of low-level embedded software for microcontroller systems (STM32) and embedded Linux platforms
  • Definition and implementation of software and system architectures for medical devices
  • Creation and maintenance of system, software and interface requirements
  • Development and implementation of communication interfaces (SPI, I²C, CAN, UART)
  • Responsibility for the software lifecycle according to IEC 62304
  • Planning and execution of software reviews and technical design reviews
  • Development of verification and validation strategies and execution of corresponding tests
  • Close collaboration with hardware, quality management, regulatory affairs and production teams
  • Support for risk analyses and risk assessments according to ISO 14971
  • Ensuring traceability between requirements, design, risk management and verification
  • Assistance in the creation of technical documentation for MDR-compliant medical devices
  • Technical guidance and mentoring of developers as well as management of small interdisciplinary teams
  • Support in error analysis and debugging of complex hardware and software systems

Your profile:

Must-haves:

  • Completed studies in computer science, electrical engineering, medical engineering or comparable qualification
  • Several years of professional experience in the development of embedded software
  • Solid knowledge of programming STM32 microcontrollers and embedded Linux systems
  • Excellent knowledge of C/C++ for embedded applications
  • Experience with industrial communication interfaces (SPI, I²C, CAN, UART)
  • Sound knowledge of the software development process according to IEC 62304
  • Experience in creating: software requirements, software architectures, software designs
  • Verification and test documentation
  • Experience in conducting technical reviews
  • Knowledge of systems engineering and requirements engineering
  • Experience in the development of medical devices according to MDR (EU) 2017/745
  • Experience with risk management processes, ideally according to ISO 14971
  • Structured and independent work style
  • Fluent German skills, both spoken and written

Nice-to-haves:

  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements in the field of medical technology
  • Experience in hardware development and circuit analysis
  • Experience with CI/CD processes and automated test systems
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity for medical devices (e.g. IEC 81001-5-1)
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git
  • Experience in the professional management of small teams
