Job Description

Your place in the MAI Group

As the Strategy & Experience business unit with offices in Vienna, Munich, and Cologne, we develop strategies for our clients' digital transformation and implement them in a user-centric way, creating outstanding customer experiences. Our three chapters – Research & Intelligence, Consulting & Execution, and Innovation & Experience Design – work hand in hand. We're looking for you to help build our AI consulting line!
MAI is a strong group of eight agencies spread across Hamburg, Berlin, Paderborn, Cologne, Augsburg, Munich, and Vienna – united by shared goals, mutual exchange, and collaboration across locations. Wherever you start with us, you'll become part of your local team and, at the same time, part of MAI.

What you will do with us

  • Developing innovative AI opportunities for our clients – together with our account managers and designers.

  • You have a deep understanding of your customers' business – their customer journeys, their value creation processes, their points of friction – and can identify where AI-based solutions have the greatest leverage.

  • Together with clients, you develop new ideas and solutions based on our portfolio: co-creative, goal-oriented and always close to real business value.

  • You act as a translator between business and technology – you speak the language of decision-makers as confidently as that of technical teams, bridging the gap between these two worlds.

  • You make solutions tangible: You sketch architectures, visualize concepts, and intuitively and comprehensibly summarize ideas.

  • You strategically guide clients through the entire decision-making process, from the initial solution idea and prioritization to a robust roadmap, and hand it over in a structured manner to the implementation teams.

  • You are the first point of contact for questions about data protection, GDPR and the EU AI Act, and you know when to involve which colleagues.

  • You accompany the client from the first workshop to implementation.

  • You monitor the market, the competition, and new AI developments, and actively bring these insights back to the team and into customer discussions.

What makes you who you are

  • You bring several years of experience in a consulting, strategy or solutions role, ideally with a focus on customer experience, digital transformation or data-driven business models.

  • You understand how companies function: business processes, decision-making logics, customer journeys, and the question of where AI truly fits in and where it doesn't.

  • You present yourself confidently and convincingly, and can spontaneously outline ideas, get to the point, and make them understandable for different target groups – from the development team to management.

  • You understand LLMs, agentic systems, and RAG approaches, including their limitations, and can assess when an AI solution is the right answer and when it is not.

  • You have a solid technical understanding: You know exactly what is feasible, what our portfolio offers, and how solutions are interconnected, even if you don't build them yourself.

  • You are familiar with the IT security, data protection and compliance requirements of enterprise customers and address them confidently.

  • You have a quick grasp of things: You quickly understand business contexts and problems, recognize patterns, and intuitively develop comprehensible solutions.

  • You have very good German skills (C2 level) as well as fluent English skills.

  • You enjoy hybrid working and are happy to be regularly on-site at one of our locations in Munich, Cologne or Vienna.
